In my lifetime of 23 years, I must have scratched a thousand ‘lucky draw’ cards, entered hundreds of raffles but how many have I won? It figures in the 1-digit range. You must be thinking that I am digressing but I am not. A month ago, Natural Mantra had a treasure hunt and they were giving 10 products for 1 Rs. Can you believe it? Neither could I but on that eventful day, I attacked the website with a vengeance and finally Lady Luck smiled on me and I got my hands on this wonderful product by another favourite brand of mine, Rustic Art. All for a rupee I was so excited. Herald the Rustic Art Divine Massage Oil This is what the company says about it Rustic Art Divine Massage Oil is an age old Ayurvedic formula, traditionally been used by Ayurvedic physicians. It is also called 'Sarva Roga Nivarani' or the 'Master Oil. It makes your body active and rejuvenates you. It regulates body temperature and enhances mood. It soothes muscles, nerves & relaxes the body, produces a feeling of calmness & tranquility. It is useful for respiratory congestion, cramps, swelling, body pain, sprains, paralytic disorders, hypertension, rheumatic disorders, insomnia, and facial paralysis. It can be safely applied on nose, throat and back if suffering from cold. It is completely handmade and has no side effects. Ingredients: Aloevera, Lemon Peel, Amla, Eucalyptus, Country, Camphor, Organic Sesame Oil, Cora, Organic, Coconut Oil, Takkolam, Pirrappam Rhizome. How to use it Sitting continuously for more than 8 hours in front of a computer takes a toll on my body. I do take occasional walks but most of the evenings; I am tired and achy all over. Every joint of mine pains. I take a little of this oil and apply it on my knees, calves and my arms. Rub it in small circular motions for 2 minutes and it’s totally absorbed. I really could not believe it. No sticky mess. No stains. You can also do a hot compress. As soon as I apply this oil, I get this warm sensation. Maybe it’s imagined, maybe not. But it’s pleasant and relaxing enough Oh, I almost forgot to describe the smell. It smells of camphor. A little like the moth balls we used to put in our cupboards eons ago, long before these ‘dried-flowers-smelling-good-sachets’ came in the markets. I personally find it uplifting. To spice up my evenings, I light a few scented candles, apply this oil and dip my feet in a bucket of hot water and watch my favourite sitcoms or a movie. Another tip is to apply this on your forehead when you have a cold or a mild headache. To sum up the pros and cons of it, Pros • Good for aching muscles and joints. • Gives a little relief from cold, cough and headache • It isn’t sticky. Gets absorbed quickly • It doesn’t stain • One bottle stays for a long time Cons • No cons for me. Price: 250 Rs for 200 ml. Will I repurchase this? Yes. Absolutely yes.
