With adeptly carved cutwork, traditional design and contemporary finish, this handcrafted incense burner or dhoop holdermakes it easy for you to burn incense and purify your home.
The distinctive contrast of textured surface and luminious glaze is got by firing a special stoneware clay at a very high temperature and hand-glazing it.
Stoneware withstands high temperatures and is more durable than porcelain or ceramic. Ergonomically designed for ease of holding, the curve and placement of the handle is very comfortable and offers you a sturdy grip. The carved lattice work on top diffuses effectively while the three-legged support ensures safety.
Vastu recommends to walk around your house in a clockwise direction with the incense burning in the holder. pottery is made from stoneware, wheel-thrown and handbuilt in a quiet village on the Coromandel Coast of Southeast India. Our fine pottery is hand crafted, is of the highest quality in every detail and refined to perfection.
Each piece is thus unusual and unique. Stoneware is clay that when fired (a high-fired clay; about 2185 degrees Fahrenheit) to maturity becomes a sturdy, chip resistant material that can withstand high temperatures (for burning incense). This is different from the earthenware (usually called "ceramics" or "ceramic ware") which is a white and porous clay fired at a low temperature (about 1915 degrees Fahrenheit) and hence not as durable.
Ingredients : Hand made from high quality stoneware clay and finished with lead free and uses cadmium-free glazes. This incense burner with lid is dishwasher safe. As with all hand crafted pottery the coloring and size will vary from piece to piece, making each piece a one-of-a-kind.
Direction For use : Ignite a dhoop charcoal (specially made for incense burning) by using the flame of a stove or candle. The briquette should start to crackle and glow.
Next, set the charcoal in a container on a bed of sand. You can also use a dhoopdanfor lighting the dhoop. The sand layer under the charcoal should be at least 3/4-1 inch thick.
Slowly fan or blow on the tablet. Only after the charcoal is aglow and stops crackling, use a knife, spoon or tweezers to drop the incense onto the tablet. Fan the dhoop to let the aroma spread.
Lastly, charcoal may continue to burn for two hours after lighting - so don't just throw it in a wastebasket. Use tweezers to extract the tablet and submerse it in water to discard if the tablet is still lit.
